A belated apology.

We caught on fire overnight;

Flames licking tentatively but rapidly bursting into an explosion of love and desire.

Nervous smiles; anxious hearts, a merging of oxytocin and adrenaline.

They say, don’t play with fire as you will get hurt;

Don’t believe all you hear, but I guess that saying turned out true.

I crept out at half two; tripping over abandoned bottles from the night before and scattered clothes; leaving you to dream in peace.
