She walked softly, gently, carefully. Her feet felt like molten lead. It was time. She watched the clock frantically as she realised how much time was passing, already. She didn’t have long left. The letter was burning a hole on her thigh, urging her to move quickly; she wasn’t being quick enough. She cursed herself under her breath as she became aware of the sunlight streaming through the windows.
